HCC Continuing Education to Offer Beginning Weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom

Photo by: Donated Haywood Community College’s Continuing Education Department will offer a course called Beginning Weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom. This class is ideal for those interested in weaving but don’t want to make the big investment in a floor loom.

Haywood Community College’s Continuing Education Department will offer a course called Beginning Weaving on a Rigid Heddle Loom. This class is ideal for those interested in weaving but don’t want to make the big investment in a floor loom.

Rigid heddle looms are portable, affordable and versatile, a great introduction to weaving. With access to Haywood Community College looms, students will learn about weaving patterns, drafts, preparing the loom, weaving and finishing techniques for woven cloth.

This course begins on May 21 and runs on Tuesdays through June 25 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Another session will be offered beginning September 3 through October 3 on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. It will be held in the Creative Arts Building.
