HCC Criminal Justice Awarded 18 Trophies at Competition

Haywood Community College’s Criminal Justice students and faculty of the American Criminal Justice Association – Lambda Eta Chi chapter attended the Regional V conference/competition recently in Charleston, SC. The group brought home a total of 18 trophies.

While attending the conference, the faculty and students participated in competitions involving Academic testing, firearms and physical fitness.

HCC took first, second, and third place in Academic Testing for lower collegiate division and professional division.  The college also took first place in Physical Fitness 36 and over, first place in physical fitness 25 to 35, and first place in physical fitness 25 and under. In Professional Firearms, HCC took third place. In lower division firearms team, HCC took third place, and second place in lower division crime scene competition.

Region V consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

The HCC Foundation awarded a mini-grant to these students to partially fund this trip.
