Haywood Community College recently held a Scholarship Recognition Event where scholarship donors were able to meet the students who were awarded scholarships.

More than 100 students received scholarships this academic year. Over $125,000 was awarded through the HCC Foundation and outside scholarships. Scholarships offered at HCC have expanded from curriculum to also include continuing education, tools and technology, and GED scholarships.

“It is nice and comforting to know there are people out there that want to help people achieve their goals,” said HCC Associate in Arts student and scholarship recipient Kari Willis. “Without a scholarship, there’s no way I could come back to school. I can’t put into words how much I appreciate this.”

HCC students can now apply for scholarships by completing an online application. The application period runs from April 24 through May 15. Visit www.haywood.edu/scholarships to view the online application or click on the link on the HCC homepage under “Quick Links.”
