HCC instructs sheriff's office in CPR, first aid training
Haywood Community College’s Workforce Continuing Education Division provided CPR/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and first aid training to nearly 100 employees of the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office recently. The training included adult, child and infant CPR, treatment for a person choking, the use of an AED and basic first aid.
“This was an excellent opportunity for the sheriff’s office to partner with Haywood Community College to give our employees some great training that will assist them if the need for CPR or first aid ever arises,” said Haywood County Sheriff Greg Christopher. “The instructors were absolutely wonderful and I have received so many positive comments from our deputies and civilian personnel. I would like this to become an annual part of our in-service training.”
The participants were certified through the HCC American Heart Association training center, which is the only center in Haywood County. For further information regarding CPR/AED and first aid training, call 565-4103 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
