Summer is a good time to start a journey into another language. In the Elementary Spanish I class, students will be introduced to the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Spanish and demonstrate cultural awareness. Instructor for this course is Christopher Bond.
For those interested in developing a disaster response plan, the Response & Recovery course introduces the basic concepts, operational procedures, and authorities involved in response and recovery efforts to major disasters. Topics include federal, state, and local roles and responsibilities in major disaster, response, and recovery work, with an emphasis on governmental coordination. Upon completion, students should be able to implement a disaster response plan and assess the needs of those involved in a major disaster. Instructor for this course is Barbara Wolfe.
