HCC to re-advertise for new president

Although the details are still forthcoming, the Haywood Community College Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Tuesday to re-advertise for the position of college president.

“The committee came up with the new dates for when we’re posting for the job and re-advertising it,” said board chairman Bob Morris.

Pending approval from the state, Morris said they plan to post the advertisement at the beginning of next week. Applications will need to be in by Oct. 12, and the board will meet to review all of the applications on Oct. 22.

Since current president Dr. Rose Johnson’s last day on the job is Oct. 31, an interim president will also be selected. Morris said a committee will present the board with a list of people who might serve as interim president at the next board of trustees meeting at ...
