Throughout the 2012- 2013 school year, teachers from Haywood County Schools will be recognized for their commitment and dedication to the students of Haywood County. This program is sponsored by Jack Bishop of Edward Jones and the Haywood County Schools Foundation.  Two teachers a month will be recognized from all sixteen Haywood County Schools.  Jenny Wood, Executive Director of the Haywood County Schools Foundation said, “Haywood County has outstanding teachers who often go unrecognized for their hard work.”

In the month of January Rachel Jones from Jonathan Valley Elementary School and Teresa Cusaac from Central Haywood High School were recognized for their Excellence in Education.  Representatives from Mr. Bishop’s, Edward Jones office, the Foundation and Dr. Anne Garrett, Superintendent of Haywood County Schools presented the teachers with Certificate of Appreciation and $100 check sponsored by Mr. Bishop. “Teachers constantly spend their own money out of their own pocket to purchase supplies for their students. Teachers shape the future of our young students and it is important that we as community partners support educators “said Mr. Bishop.
