Headwaters Brewery, 130 Frazier Street, Suite 7 Waynesville NC will host a Lens Lugger Awards event at 7PM Friday June 15th, 2012. Friends, family, the public is invited. Charles Johnson took 1st place with 25 out of 27 possible points for his image, “Supermoon.” Jo D'Eramo received the next two highest marks for 2nd & 3rd spots with “The Heart Of The Matter” and “Grand Am II,” respectively.

“This recognition is an example of capturing the essence of a moment,” said Bob Grytten, group leader. Three other members of the Lens Luggers will receive awards as well. They are Sandy Martin, Michael Ritter and Beverly Slone. 

The reviewers (judges), were selected based on their long time involvement in the field of photography. They were Instructed to use a 1-3 point rating of each image for Technical, Composition, and Emotional Impact,” says Grytten, “to insure an objective evaluation of each image.”

Rudolph, Author, Educator & Photojournailst www.drellenrudolph.com; Tony Hood, http://frenchbroadimaging.com professional photographer, instructor, and also owner of French Broad Imaging in Asheville, and Ed Kelly www.edkelley.com, professional photographer and instructor who also owns Ridge Runner Gallery in Waynesville.
