So Dearly Loved

CLYDE — Helen Louise McClure Rogers, 71, of McClure Cove Road, entered into the arms of the angels Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at her home.

Mrs. Rogers was born July 9, 1941, in Haywood County to the late J.W. McClure and the late Hermie Keener McClure. She had made her home in Haywood County all of her life and retired from Haywood Community College where she was employed as the college cafeteria manager. Helen was truly a wonderful cook and her biscuits were a favorite of everyone. She loved her home and enjoyed her special time with her family and grandchildren. Her grandchildren brought her great pride and joy and they were indeed the light of her life. Helen was loved by all who knew her and her memory will remain in the hearts of each of those whose life she touched deeply.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Rogers Brown, who passed away in 2001 and her brothers, Bill McClure and James McClure.

Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Charles R. Rogers; her sons, Lewis Rogers and his wife, Janet Rogers, of Clyde and Bill Rogers and his wife, Sandy Rogers, of Bethel; her grandchildren, Travis Rogers, of London, England, Hayley Rogers, of Charlotte, Steven Rathbone, of Canton, Billyjoe Rogers, of Gastonia, Cheyenne Rogers, of Bethel, and Tracey Brown, of Canton; four nieces; one nephew and many friends that loved her dearly.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan Davis will be officiating. Burial will be in McClure Family Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Rogers, Steven Rathbone,  Billyjoe Rogers, Tracey Brown, Tommy Bramlett and Buddy McClure.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
