Help make Thanksgiving dinner possible
The Maggie Valley Area Lodging Association (MVALA) is once again donating turkey dinners to Haywood County residents this year to be distributed at the Haywood County Department of Social Services located in Clyde on Tuesday, Nov. 20 starting at 10 a.m.
“We are very happy to announce that we have 200 dinners to give away this year to those who need them. We also welcome donations from the community to provide even more boxes this year,” said Phillip White, member of the MVALA.
The dinners are provided by the MVALA to serve those in need who might not have the means to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for themselves or their family.
To receive a turkey dinner box, individuals need to contact their social services representative (Medicaid, Food and Nutrition, Adult Services, etc). The social services worker will then refer the client’s name to a master list depending on availablity.
To make a donation to provide more turkey dinners, call Phillip White at 926-3539.
