Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation’s sixth annual Furry Friends Benefit Bash will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville. It promises to be an evening of fun, food, music and lively live and silent auctions.

The event is returning to Laurel Ridge Country Club, which was a big hit with guests and supporters last year.

“Laurel Ridge Country Club provided a beautiful setting for the event last year,” said Sarge’s board president Steve Hewitt. “Come join Sarge’s for an evening of fun celebrating the animals we love. Momentum is growing and records are being set for Sarge’s pet adoptions, but there is still much work to be done to save homeless dogs and cats in Haywood County.”

Before the dinner, guests may visit the silent auction area containing many dining, golf and spa packages, as well as unique items for people and their pets.

The live auction will include vacation packages, special dinners and the opportunity to have a photograph of the winning bidder’s favorite dog featured front and center on the Sarge’s Dog Walk T-shirt for the 2015 event. The evening’s auctioneer will be Todd Thompson, owner of Thompson Carr Auction in Sevierville, Tennessee. Thompson also owns the world-famous Charity Pros Benefit Auction Service.

“Sarge’s is grateful to The Mountaineer for partnering with us to alert the community about the Furry Friends Benefit Bash,” said Gary Smith, chairman of the event. “We feel it will be our biggest and best yet.”

The event will be a sit-down dinner with two entrées from which to choose. Laurel Ridge Country Club is offering a sirloin steak/chicken Marsala combination or vegetarian entrée, all with side dishes, salad and dessert. Menu selections must be turned in by Sept. 25. There will be a cash bar.

Tickets may be purchased for $50 per person at Sarge’s Adoption Center, 256 Industrial Park Drive, Waynesville. Table sponsorships are available for $450, which will reserve a table for eight guests.
