Help wanted with litter pick-up May 18

May 06, 2013

The Commission For a Clean County (CCC), will meet Saturday, May 18, to pick up trash at the four exits at Exit 98, in West Waynesville.

Volunteers are always needed and are appreciated by the CCC.

A few members from the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, and the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville have indicated they will be out to help.

Volunteers will meet CCC members a little before 9 a.m. in the parking lot next to Huddle House, which is near Walmart.

The CCC does road litter pick-ups six months a year, from May through October. Members clean at least one road in each town and one in the county. Sometimes, extra work is done helping another group.

A light drizzle does not deter the CCC, but no litter pick-up is done in a heavy rain or thunderstorm.  Call CCC secretary JoAnna Swanson at 452-1550.
