Herbalist Molly Stolle to Speak to Tuscola Garden Club
|Apr 15, 2014|
Tuscola Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15th at the Bethea Welcome Center at Lake Junaluska. Herbalist Molly Stolle will present the program, “Everyday Uses of Herbs – Healing Properties of Local Plants and Weeds”. Stolle became interested in medicinal plants when she encountered Stinging Nettles (Urtica dioca) all over her property several years ago. She first tried to eradicate them, but now they have become one of her favorite plants!
A former kindergarten teacher, Stolle has greatly benefited from Peggy Ellis’ herbal studies program in Asheville, learning about the immense nutrition and healing properties of our local herbs and weeds. She has also participated for many years in the annual Medicines of the Earth Symposium at Blue Ridge Assembly. Instead of supplements, Stolle relies on teas made from these “local weeds” to maintain a disease-resistant, strong and healthy lifestyle.
