The High Country Quilt Guild announces its 26th Annual Quilt Show, “High Country Autumn.”

There is a new venue and dates for this year’s event. The show will take place at the First Baptist Church of Maggie Valley, 3634  Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC on Thursday Oct. 13, noon to 4 p.m. and Friday and Saturday Oct. 14-15 from 10 am to 4 p.m. The show is open to the public with free admission and free parking.

It is expected that over 100 quilts of all sizes from small wall hangings to crib size to king size will be on display at the show, many of which will be for sale. A craft room featuring quilts and seasonal crafts made by Guild members is always a popular spot to shop for autumn décor or Christmas presents.

A raffle will be held for this year’s theme quilt, “High Country Autumn”, which is a large queen-sized quilt with an Amish color scheme. Tickets for the quilt have been on sale for several months at various events in Maggie Valley and Waynesville, are available from guild members, and can be purchased at the show on all three days.

Several local vendors are participating in the show, including: J. Creek Fabrics; Sew New Again antiques sewing machines and tables; and Lisa’s Quilting Shed. There will be a bake sale for snacking at the show or at home.
