Hiking and Halloween: Who Thought Halloween Up Anyway?

The Waynesville area is fortunate to have the Haywood Community Campus Arboretum Walking Trail nearby. We found it to be among the best maintained trails in North Carolina. It is a one mile trail that provides an excellent view of the campus. We passed the horticulture garden that students help build in 1995. The beautiful pond and grist mill and a rhododendron garden were well maintained and provide evidence that the campus values this trail. Rock walls lined part of the trail and there were benches on which to sit and admire the gardens.
