Historic Farmer's Market opens April 26
The 2014 season of the Historic Farmer’s Market will open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 26, in the HART Theatre parking lot, located at 250 Pigeon St., Waynesville. Wednesday markets will begin April 30 and will be held at the same time and location.
The first items to be featured will be the spring greens, meats, eggs, herbs, vegetables, and annual and perennial starts. The fresh seafood coming from the coast of North Carolina will be available on Saturdays only. Trout will be coming out of Almond, North Carolina, caught that morning and packed on ice.
New vendors will be coming each week as the weather warms up and radishes, onions and strawberries will be the next items to start coming in.
There are about 50 vendors on any given summer Saturday. This variety gives customers many food items to choose from and vendors are held to the highest standards to ensure customer satisfaction. The Heritage Craft vendors will also be available for all gift-giving needs.
