Home, garden expo is April 20, 21
The Asheville Home Builders Association announced its fourth annual Home & Garden Expo to be held April 20 and 21, at the WNC Ag Centers Davis Arena. This homebuilding-specific expo will feature more than100 exhibiting companies, including an indoor garden section with plants for sale, educational demonstrations, and Vicki Payne of PBS’s For Your Home on location Saturday, April 20. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Parking is free and Admission is $5.
New this year is a section for local interior design companies to showcase their talents on Designer’s Lane, sponsored by Carolina Home & Garden Magazine. Consumers will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite display, and one consumer will receive a $500 gift certificate to the fan-favorite designer’s showroom.
Also on display is The Playhouse Showdown. The six Buncombe County high schools will design and build a playhouse to be given in a drawing on location. Each school will receive $2 from each ticket sold to utilize within their local construction classrooms. Remaining proceeds will go directly back to the schools in the form of scholarships for their local CTE programs.
Drawing tickets are $5 and include one admission into the expo. The drawings for each playhouse will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 21 during the expo.
