HOPEful Living: Women’s Cancer Support Group will meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the second floor classroom of Haywood Regional Health and Fitness Center, 75 Leroy George Drive, Clyde.
Beth Wyatt Doying, family nurse practitioner, will speak on palliative care, which is specialized medical care for people living with serious illness with a focus on providing relief from symptoms and stress. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and family.
Doying studied nursing at Western Carolina University. She has experience as an in-home aide, CNA and nurse in local nursing homes, and has worked as hospital medical-surgical unit nurse.
Since obtaining her FNP license, Doying has an avid desire to serve her native Haywood County with the Palliative Care Program at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
HOPEful Living meets monthly on the third Tuesday of everything month with the exception of December, January and March.
The group strives to support and provide information to all women diagnosed with cancer, whether newly diagnosed, in treatment or long-term survivors. Refreshments will be served.
