Howard named to 3-A all-state team

Tuscola High School senior Rob Howard has been named to the North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association All-State Class 3-A team the organization announced last week.
It was Howard’s first selection to the prestigious squad. In May, he was also named the WNC Athletic Conference’s Co-Player of the Year.  
“It’s always an honor to be named to any postseason team,” Howard said. “I’m very thankful.  It’s always been my goal to play the game to the best of my abilities and let the awards and postseason honors will take care of themselves. Again, this is a special honor for me.”
Howard, who started on the varsity for four seasons, will play college baseball at Appalachian State University.
