HRMC awards scholarships
The Haywood Regional Medical Center (HRMC) Foundation awarded two student scholarships at the Partners In Education Banquet held at Lambuth Inn on May 5, 2014. Mikaela Messer, a senior at Tuscola, and Hunter Sluder, a senior at Pisgah High School, each received a $1,000 scholarship to attend a college or university after graduation from high school in June.
“The Foundation considers it an honor and privilege to assist these students prepare for professions in the health care field,” said Dr. Laura Leatherwood, chairman, board of Ttrustees. “We recognize that the overall growth and prosperity of our community is dependent on having healthy citizens. These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of our donors and medical community. Our hope is that these students will earn a health related degree and come back to Haywood County to live, work and raise their families.”
