Leah Hughes, associate editor at Our State magazine, will be guest speaker at the meeting of the Junaluska Woman’s Club at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 9, in the Bethea Welcome Center. In keeping with the club’s 2012 theme, “Junaluska’s Rosy Future,” Hughes’ talk will focus on roses.
Our State has published many of her articles about gardens in North Carolina, including an interesting article, Pennywort, in the June issue of the magazine. Hughes will discuss roses and rose gardens she has seen across the state. While she is here, there will be an opportunity to show off Junaluska’s Rose Walk.
Hughes joined the Our State staff in 2010 and is a graduate of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
