Hunger Free Haywood officially launched

A community based effort addressing hunger insecurity in Haywood County  from June 15 through July 15. Throughout the month, local businesses and organizations will be accepting food staples, to be distributed directly to the local food pantries and soup kitchens.

The goal is to collect 50,000 pounds of food, increase awareness about hunger in Haywood County, and educate the community about what is being done and who is participating.  This effort is a way to empower the generous residents of Haywood County to reach out to their neighbors and help reduce the stigma associated with hunger.
