Imogene Caldwell Mehaffey

HOPEWELL TWP., NEW JERSEY — Born April 5, 1934, in Haywood County, Imogene Caldwell Mehaffey spent part of her youth in Salem, New Jersey, then back to North Carolina. Eventually she returned to the Elmer and Deerfield area and raised her own family. She was a member of the Deerfield Methodist Church and taught Sunday school there. On Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, she left to be with the Lord, where she will be at rest for all eternity.
She was predeceased by her parents France Gilbert Caldwell and Anna Mae (Brown) Caldwell; brother Perry Lee Caldwell; and sister, Gertrude (Trudy Caldwell) McDaniel.
She is survived by daughter, Terri Lee (Mehaffey) Brown, and husband Ray, of Alloway; son Carl Johnson Mehaffey Jr., and wife, Mickele; and grandchildren Aston and Waytt, of Cohansey, Paul Mehaffey, and wife, Julie; and great-grandchildren Titus, Eliza and Violet, of Mullica Hill; brothers Fred Boone Caldwell, of Cunroe, Texas, Kyle Caldwell, of Kings Mountain, Richard Caldwell, of Waynesville, and sister, Joyce Elen (Caldwell) Queen, and husband, Bill, of Waynesville; and many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the U S.
She will go to rest with the Lord at the Green Hill Cemetery of Waynesville, with her mother and father. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
