Ingles project gets green light
All Ingles Markets needs to do now is call Paul Benson, Waynesville's planning director, and he'll start the permitting process for the massive renovations to the Buncombe County-based grocery store chain's Russ Avenue facility.
"The zoning permit comes first, and I'm ready to issue it," Benson said in a telephone interview. "All they have to do is call me."
An information-only presentation was made to the Waynesville Board of Aldermen at the board's Tuesday night meeting. Ingles had requested what Benson referred to as not substantial changes to their initial conditional development master plan at 201 Barber Boulevard and Russ Avenue. The planning board unanimously approved the changes at its Aug. 20 meeting.
