Ingles submits proposal for gas station
Ingles is still planning a significant expansion and adding a gas station at the location on Barber Boulevard, although it has yet to be approved by the town.
The grocery store recently submitted a new building proposal to the Town of Waynesville after making some changes to the original plans.
The initial proposal, which was approved by the town in February 2011, suggested expanding the grocery store and adding a drive-through pharmacy and garden center. The company also planned to build an eight-pump gas station between Hometrust Bank and Belk.
The new proposal excludes a garden center and changes the location of the gas station to the open space beside Hometrust Bank, said Town Planner Paul Benson.
