Is Pisgah on ‘Upset Alert?’
CANTON — Prepare battle stations Pisgah, because the upset-alert sirens are sounding.
For tonight’s game at Brevard (7:30 p.m. kickoff), the Black Bears, which have already locked up the Class 2-AA No. 1 seed from the WNC Athletic Conference, come into the final regular season varsity football game as a heavy road favorite and riding a two-game win streak.
And what will the 0-10 Blue Devils be playing for?
Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Well, except to avoid an 0-11 season. And what better opponent for Brevard to beat than arch-rival Pisgah and avoid the school’s first-ever winless football season.
This just happens to make the Blue Devils a very dangerous opponent. Because tonight, its the Blue Devils’ Super Bowl.
