It's fair time!
The Haywood County Fair, which runs through Sunday afternoon, offers something for everyone this year.
With plenty of mountain music, animals ranging in size from chickens to a camel, an array of midway food and plenty of exhibits — and several days without a rain forecast — this year's fair promises to be a winner.
Among the many activities scheduled for this year’s fair are carnival rides, bingo, a fish fry, a firemen’s competition, natural beauty pageant, the Smoky Mountain Jamboree emceed by Sen. Joe Sam Queen and an animal viewing zoo.
New this year will be a photographer with the mechanical bull riding, a mobile home display from Clayton Homes, a corn hole tournament and a horse and mule-pulling contest.
