Loving husband, father, grandfather

CANTON – James D. Silver Jr., “J.D.,” 72, went home to be with his heavenly father Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at his residence.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late James Dimey and Fannie Sisk Silver.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Arlie B. Silver, and a sister, Millie Hoglen.  J. D. was a very talented brick mason who was extremely dedicated, and a master craftsman of his work.  His masonry work can be found throughout many prominent buildings in Western North Carolina.  J.
