J. R. Trull

CANTON — Clarence Mingus “J. R.” Trull, 71, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at MedWest - Haywood.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Rev. Clarence Mingus and Thelma Lee Green Trull.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, R. David Honeycutt Jr. He retired from Champion International with 32 years of service as a foreman. He served on the board of directors for the Center Pigeon Fire Department and was also a volunteer fireman for 17 years. He was a volunteer for eight years for the Haywood County Rescue Squad and was a member of the Pigeon River Masonic Lodge #386 AF&AM and was a Shriner. J.R. refereed ball for 27 years. He was a United States Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lisa Harris Trull; two daughters, Cherl Honeycutt and her fiancé, Randall Kiziah, of Hickory and Leanne Trull Warren and her husband, Camden, of Canton; three sons, David Trull and his wife, Glenna, of Leicester, Darryl Trull and his wife, LeeAnne, of Newton, and James Trull and his wife, Shelby, of Canton; five sisters, Muriel Carver of Edgemore, South Carolina, Mary Ann Smith of Chester, South Carolina and Janet Plemmons, Nancy Cagle and Freida Babb, all of Canton; two brothers, Charles Trull, of Tuson, Arizona and Benny Trull of Canton; six grandchildren, Jennifer White, Austin Tumelson, Isaiah Warren, Noah Phillips, Athens Warren and Hudson Trull; and a great-grand daughter, Skyler Renee White.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. David Trull officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
