1941 – 2013

CANTON – Jacqueline Sue Miller West, 71, of Beaverdam Heights Drive, passed away on Friday, March 01, 2013 at MedWest Haywood.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Agnes Jacobson Miller.  Jackie was a former employee of American Enka and served as an assistant Girl Scout Leader.  She retired, with 20 years of service, from Haywood County Schools and was a member of Beaverdam United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy K. West; two daughters, Karen Elaine Downing and her husband, John, of Wake Forest, and Veronica Lynn Hales and her husband, Eddie, of Wilmington; one son, Mitchell Ray West and his wife, Maegan, of Canton; two sisters, Beverly Heatherly of Canton and Rose Marie Fore of Burnsville; one brother, Doug Miller of Swannanoa;  and four grandchildren, Wesley Carpenter, Brayden West, Griffin and Finley Hales.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
