WAYNESVILLE — James Ray “Jimmy” Jarrell II, 49, born in Salisbury Aug. 20, 1964, went home to be with the Lord as he slept, Monday, June 2, 2014. He was the son of James R. and Nancy W. Jarrell, of Salisbury.
He attended Salisbury City Schools and Hargrave Military Academy. Jimmy was a carpenter by trade and his hobby was building and refinishing wood furniture. He attended White Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia McCora Jarrell, whom he married April 1, 1988; children, James R. “Tripp” Jarrell III (Michelle), of Salisbury, and Staci Hoover Carter (Buddy), of Waynesville; sisters, Judy Turbeville (Chuck), of Florence, South Carolina, Karen Waters (Jeff), of Mt. Pleasant, Jane Hunsucker (Britt), of Salisbury; and brother, Jonathan E. Jarrell (Lauren), of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; friends, Randy, Sharon and Joe Martin; and his best friend, Jiggs.
Visitation and memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 6, at White Oak Baptist Church, 4027 White Oak Road, Waynesville.
