WAYNESVILLE — Janet Melissa Peck Daggy, 57, of Thomas Park Drive, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013.
Mrs. Daggy was born June 5, 1956, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Joan McCombs Peck and the late William Peck. She had made her home in Haywood County since 1979. Janet was a former employee of the North Carolina Fish and Wildlife Service. She was a talented artist and was the owner of Jan Daggy Watercolor Studio in Waynesville. Janet was a member of New Covenant Church in Clyde. Janet loved horseback riding and she never ever met a stranger. She truly loved being with people and her kindness blessed many. Janet will always be remembered as a wonderful wife and mom.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael E. Daggy of Waynesville; a daughter, Melissa Daggy of Missoula, Montana; brothers, David Peck and his wife, Karen Peck of Michigan and Robert Peck and his wife, Luan Peck of Michigan.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec.7, 2013, at New Covenant Church in Clyde. Pastor Nick Honerkamp will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church following the service.
