CLYDE — Jared Adam Best, 26, of the Crabtree community passed away at his home on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Hugh Carroll Best Jr. and Paul Hannah.
Jared is survived by his wife of eight years, Emma E. Best, of Crabtree; parents, Hugh Carroll Best III and Patti Best; brother, Aaron Devon (Caroline), Best of Georgia; sister, Chelsea Elizabeth Best, of Asheville; brother-in-law and best friend, Bryan McDowell, of Nashville, Tennessee; niece, Mikayla; and nephew, Aidan; two grandmothers, Ruby Lee Hannah, of Canton, and Louise Best, of Crabtree; three aunts: Alpha Best, of Crabtree, Gracie (Russell) Lowe, of Oklahoma, and Teresa (Calvin) Brown, of Michigan; two uncles, Keith Hannah and Kenneth (Debbie) Hannah, all of Michigan; cousins, Shawn (Taressa) Best, of Crabtree; among numerous extended family and friends.
Jared served in the United States Army for six years and was a proud veteran. He enjoyed restoring antique vehicles such as tractors and cars, hunting deer and duck, and making music. He also loved woodworking and doing all types of mechanic work. Above all, Jared loved farming, his family, and his dog, Bela.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7,, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor Sam Adams officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m.
