The Classic Wineseller's Friday Night Live music series continues on December 28, 2012 at 7:00pm with Michael Pilgrim and friends performing Gypsy jazz on the mandolin and guitars. Dinner is served beginning at 5:30pm at Angelino’s Piattino in the Classic Wineseller, 20 Church Street in Waynesville.
Of all the styles of jazz to emerge in the twentieth century, Gypsy jazz is the style most often defined as passionate, exhilaratingly up-tempo, and steeped in an outsider tradition. Also known as gypsy swing or hot club jazz, Gypsy jazz was made famous by guitarist Django Reinhardt in the early part of the 20th century, when Paris and the world began to embrace the uniquely American musical genre.
The popular Friday Night Live music series at the Classic Wineseller showcases local, regional, and on occasion, national talent. For more information about special events and Friday Night Live visit us online at www.classicwineseller.com or www.facebook.com/theclassicwineseller or call 452-6000.
