Wendy Jones delivers smart and arresting jazz vocals with such passion and skill that she has become one of the most popular jazz artists in Western NC. She consistently receives accolades for her energetic and entertaining renditions of cool, bop, and post bop standards.
Ms. Jones has performed in professional theatres in Chicago, south Florida, and North Carolina, including nearby Flat Rock Playhouse. After extensive auditions in North America, Europe, and Australia, she was one of only nine singers chosen to appear at Tokyo Disney’s Broadway review ENCORE! After a three-year tour of Japan, Ms. Jones returned to the North Carolina mountains to focus on her solo singing career.
Wendy Jones received her B.M. and an M.M. in vocal performance from Appalachian State University, then joined the faculty where she taught voice for eight years before embarking on a full-time, professional singing and acting career. She is currently on faculty at the University of North Carolina-Asheville where she teaches voice and improvisation to jazz voice majors. Steve Davidowski was keyboardist for the Dixie Dregs band with founding member Steve Morse. He toured with well-known fiddler, Vassar Clemmons, of “Orange Blossom Special” fame. Davidowski also toured with other well-known artists like T. Graham Brown.
Zack Page has toured the world and appeared in Asia, the Far East, the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and in all 50 states. Page has played with artists such as Billy Higgins, Eddie Daniels, and Babik Reinhardt (son of Django Reinhardt). He is a regular on the jazz scene in western North Carolina, performing with a variety of groups including the hot gypsy jazz group, One Leg Up from Asheville.
Rick Dilling has a long list of recording credits to his name and has played for some of the greatest musicians of all time including the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Margaret Whiting, Clark Terry, Ernie Watts, Herb Ellis, Joe Temperly, Billy Taylor, the Unifour Jazz Big Band, where he "drum-battled" it out onstage with the late, great Louie Bellson. Dilling is also on faculty at Appalachian State University where he teaches jazz drumset and regularly plays with the faculty jazz ensemble.
