Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother

CANTON — Sylvia Jean O’Diear Sharpe, 75, of the Center Pigeon community in Canton went home to be with Jesus Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Mrs. Sharpe was born July 23, 1937, in Swain County to the late Theodore O’Diear and the late Martha Watkins O’Diear.  She moved to Haywood County in 1949 to make her home and was a member of the Bethel High School graduating class of 1957. Jean was a devoted homemaker and a talented quilter. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and cherished the time that she spent with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Sharpe was a dedicated and active member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for her church and for visiting missionaries.
