Friend To Everyone
WAYNESVILLE — James “Jim” Edwin Sisk, 88, of Sisk Lane, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 1924.
Mr. Sisk was born June 6, 1924, to the late James Alexander Sisk and the late Hester Burrell Sisk. He was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and retired from America Enka Corporation, with 41 years of dedicated service. Mr. Sisk was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a talented musician and was known for his gift of being able to play all stringed musical instruments. He was a member of the “Carolina Country Boys” bluegrass band and he will always be remembered as being a friend to everyone. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he shall be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two step-children, a grandson and four sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Sue Kinsland Sisk; his sons, Jim Sisk, and his wife, Sue, of Candler, and Dale Sisk, of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Lisa Bartolomei, Jenny Watts, Julie James, Samantha Davis, Nathan Sisk and Heidi Wood; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and his former wife and mother of his children, Geneva Reynolds Sisk, of Candler.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec, 8, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. The Revs. Roy Kilby and Steve Smith will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the memorial service. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
