In Loving Memory

CANTON — Joseph “Joe” Lee Putnam, 84, of Canton, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.

Mr. Putnam was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Haywood County, to the late Will Putnam and the late Elizabeth Conard Putnam.  He had resided most of his life in Haywood County and loved the mountains where he worked as a self-employed logger and farmer. Joe dearly loved his family and  they shall cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Franklin  Roosevelt “Gent” Putnam and Jerry Thomas Putnam; an infant daughter; brothers, Gent, William and Fred Putnam; and sisters, Bertha Putnam and Lou Guffey McKinnish.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Betty Jean Guffey Putnam; his daughters, Shirley Williams, and her husband, Carroll Williams, of Canton, Nancy ...
