John S. Dobranski
In Loving Memory
Canton — John Steven Dobranski, 70, of Rock Garden Drive, passed away Thursday, June 19.
Mr. Dobranski was born Dec. 20, 1943, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to the late Julius Dobranski and the late Pauline Fitzge Dobranski. John had lived most of his life in Perth Amboy, where he had served as the city historian. He later made his home in Haywood County and in the mountains that he loved. John was a self-employed automobile mechanic and an avid vintage car and motorcycle enthusiast. He faithfully attended Beaverdam United Methodist Church, was a member of the Beaverdam Community Development Association and he was also a former member of FOCUS of Canton. John will always be remembered for his courage and strength as he faced many medical adversities and his memory shall be cherished forever by his family and friends.
Surviving are his beloved friend and companion, Barbara Ferris of Canton; a daughter, April D. Cook of Dover, Tennessee; grandchildren, Thomas Cook of Okinawa, Japan, and Tyler Cook of Wind Gap, Pennsylvania; a great-grandchild, Brielle Anna Marie Cook; and a brother, Julius Dobranski of Julesberg, Colorado.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at Beaverdam Community Cemetery.
