Join the FLBC Regiment

Brewery raising money for upgrades

After more than two and a half years in business, Frog Level Brewing Company is taking the next step to provide its supporters with the best beer experience possible.

Since opening, FLBC has served its seven signature brews in plastic cups. Clark Williams, co-owner of FLBC, said the most popular questions he is asked include “When are you going to get glass?” and “When are you starting a mug club?”

FLBC decided to combine the two ideas and came up with “The Regiment.”

The brewery’s crowdsourcing efforts on will help achieve both of those goals.

“Since we are located in the Historic Frog Level District of Waynesville, our building is equally historic. To meet modern codes we have to do accomplish some renovations to be able to serve in glassware,” Williams said. “We're asking for the support of our Level Heads to make the needed changes.”

In exchange for different levels of financial support, FLBC is offering levels of swag, perks and memberships. The Regiment fundraising project on Indiegogo began July 4 and runs through Aug. 8. So far, the project has raised $1,506 toward its $7,500 goal.

Green members will receive a dog tag with their name and member number, a Frog Level vinyl decal, a 20-once glass mug with Regiment crest ($4 fills), a T-shirt with Regiment crest and early access to limited edition brews.

Funds raised will be used to renovate the brewery to meet health code standards, cover operating costs associated with cleaning and sanitizing glassware, purchasing 5-ounce sampler glasses and holders, 16-ounce pint glasses, and all of the Mug Club membership items.

The project is tentatively set to start in September depending on how long renovations take to complete and when the merchandise arrives. Once someone becomes a Regiment member, the membership doesn’t expire until July 4, 2016.

“After that, we will reexamine membership numbers and pricing and The Regiment will begin annual enrollment,” Williams said.

While FLBC would love to take donations at the brewery, the Indiegogo project requires that 100 percent of the funding come through the fundraising PayPal site. To make a donation and select a level of membership, visit before Aug. 8.
