WAYNESVILLE — Joseph Wesley “Wes” Yarbrough, 52, of Allens Creek Road, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at MedWest-Haywood.
A native of Citrus County, Florida, he was a life-long resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mona Faye Fender Yarbrough and was also preceded in death by a sister, Donna Yarbrough Phillips. Wes enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Donna Shuler Yarbrough; one son, Nathan Yarbrough (Desiree), of Canton; a stepdaughter, Sabrina Ledbetter (Tré), of Waynesville; two stepsons, Chris Smith (Laurel), of Clyde, and Scott Smith, and his fiancée, Summer, of Canton; two brothers, Paul Yarbrough, of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Scott Yarbrough, and his fiancée, Jenna Fulton, of Waynesville; 11 grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
