Judith Winchester Wins Grace Cathey's Butterfly
Judith Winchester of Waynesville saw Grace Cathey’s handcrafted, metal butterfly at the dairy barn where she bought her garden tour tickets last Saturday and thought how beautiful it would look in her garden.
Winchester bought two tickets and one of those was the lucky one. “I just love the butterfly. I’m trying to decide how to show it off in my flower garden which attracts a lot of natural butterflies.”
Janet Thatcher made the phone call to Winchester on Sunday and made the presentation on Monday morning at the NC Cooperative Extension Office. “The Master Gardener Volunteers are very grateful to Grace Cathey for allowing us to sell tickets to win her beautiful metal artwork. We sold over 250 tickets for the sculpture.”
