July 4th celebration a first for Canton

Town holds Independence Day party

Thanks to Canton Mayor Mike Ray, his little town had its first July 4th celebration on Wednesday, complete with music, dancing and watermelons galore. The party, held at the Canton Rec Park, featured the band Gray Wolf, cloggers and no less than 75 watermelons, shared amongst the sizable — and hungry — crowd.
