The Carolinas Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross will be having a blood drive hosted by the Junaluska Fire Department on Monday, March 11 at the fire station at 90 Old Clyde Road, Lake Junaluska between the hours of 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm.  Approximately 1600 people need to give blood or platelets everyday just to meet hospital needs.  Blood can be given every 56 days.  Platelets can be given every seven days, up to 24 times a year.  Donating blood only takes an hour of your time but the benefits can be lifesaving for patients in your community and county.  Call Billy or Larry at 452-4404 to schedule an appointment between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 Monday through Friday or call Red Cross at 800-733-2767.
