The 58 adoptions in June 2012 makes it the third best month for adoptions in Sarge's history.
"There were 22 dogs and 36 cats adopted," said Michael Ritter who along with his wife Diana, coordinate the Saturday events. "Thanks to the support of our community, that's the 13th consecutive month that we have broken a record."
Some of Sarge's foster dogs and cats will be on the courthouse lawn and available for adoption from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, during the downtown Waynesville Stars & Stripes celebration.
