"Loving Wife"

WAYNESVILLE — Karen Lentz 62, passed away on Oct. 19, 2012, at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

She was born in Port Washington, WS, on Dec. 30, 1949, to the late Melvin and Willodena Phillips Kowalke. Karen enjoyed quilting, cross stitching, hiking, walking, music and dancing. She pretty much enjoyed life in general. One of her favorite expressions was "do whatever it takes" and another was "we are old; we are all going to die, so let's enjoy ourselves."

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Kowalke.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, David.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the ALS division of MDA at  MDA National Headquarters 3300 East Sunrise Drive Tucson, AZ 85718.
