Kids Advocacy Resource Effort (KARE, Inc.) had its annual Festival of Trees fundraiser Thursday evening at Laurel Ridge Country Club featuring a silent auction of beautifully decorated Christmas trees and a live auction of items that ranged from jewelry to paintings.

Local businesses participated by decorating a tree or offering items for the live auction.

More than 100 people gathered for the event, which raised thousands of dollars toward KARE’s mission of preventing child abuse and advocating for children who have been physically or sexually abused in Haywood County.
