WAYNESVILLE — Sallie Kate Setzer Gunter, 89, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Brian Center of Waynesville.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Ellis Rufus Setzer, Sr. and Rosa Edwards Setzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Gunter in 2002 and seven brothers and three sisters. Kate was a homemaker and member of Barberville Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time tending to her garden and most of all, loved her family dearly.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Moody McCarter and her husband Oscar of Waynesville; one son, Bob Moody and his wife Dot of Clyde; two sisters, Jewel McGaha and Rosa Morrow, both of Waynesville; two brothers, Ellis Rufus Setzer, Jr. and his wife ...
