Kmart of Waynesville has been honored with Haywood County Chamber of Commerce’s June Business of the Month Award. Presented by the Economic and Business Development Committee the purpose of the award is to recognize our community businesses who contribute to our communities through charity, good customer service, job creation, and making Haywood County a better place to live.

Kmart is a mass merchandising subsidiary of the Sears Holdings Corporation, offering quality products, exclusive brands and customer service through their team of talented staff members. With a focus on creating customer loyalty, the company has recently introduced the ShopYourWay social shopping experience. ShopYourWay members have the ability to earn points and receive benefits through both in store and online purchases.

Kmart also provides valuable opportunities in support of local community development. Through the Kmart Kares program, the company matches 10% of what non-profit groups spend in store. During the 2012 March of Dimes Campaign, Kmart of Waynesville raised approximately $9,000. Making them the #1 March of Dimes Fundraiser in their district.

According to Store Manager, Clint Hudson, an emphasis on helping the local community is equally as important as meeting sales goals. “Local Schools, Churches, Veterans, etc. may be seen hosting fundraising efforts on our front sidewalk on any given weekend.”
