Lacy Green kicks off Music Weekend July 17 at Classic Wineseller
At 7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, the Classic Wineseller, located at 20 Church St., Waynesville, welcomes Nashville recording artist, Lacy Green (guitar, vocals) for a solo performance. At age 5, Lacy had her first experience singing at one of her dad’s shows and became hooked on performing. At 13, she asked her dad to teach her how to play "Blackbird" on the guitar. Soon afterward, she began writing songs.
After two albums, countless shows and a diploma from the University of North Carolina, Green moved to Nashville where she completed her first radio tour, recorded a Top 100 country radio single, and has had song cuts in several independent films. Visit www.lacygreen.com for more information.
Singer-songwriter James Hammel (guitar, vocals) performs jazz and pop tunes at 7 p.m. Friday, July 18. Hammel was at the top of the corporate ladder in New York City when 9/11 occurred. Devastating effects to his company and among co-workers and friends led him to re-evaluate life and return to his love of music.
The Classic Wineseller's Summer Jazz Series continues this weekend at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 19, with Rockell Scott, former jazz singer with the U.S. Air Force. A vocal powerhouse, Scott has selected songs from the “Great American Songbook” for her show with pianist Dave Burn.
Summer Jazz tickets are $39.99 per person and include a four-course dinner. Call 452-6000 to reserve a table.
The Classic Wineseller presents local, regional, or national talent each week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
